สำหรับแผนลงทุนดาวเทียมไทยคม 8 ที่จะมีการยิงขึ้นสู่วงโคจรในช่วงกลางปี 59 ปัจจุบันอยู่ระหว่างเจรจากับลูกค้าคาดว่าจะมีลูกค้ามาจองเช่าช่องสัญญาณประมาณ 50% ก่อนกำหนดยิงดาวเทียม และน่าจะครบ 100% ได้ ขณะนี้ดาวเทียมไทยคม 8 สร้างคืบหน้าไปแล้วกว่า 70% ใช้เงินลงทุนราว 178 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐ ซึ่งจะมาจากการกู้ยืมจากสถาบันทางการเงิน 85% ปัจจุบันบริษัทมีอัตราหนี้สินต่อทุน(D/E) อยู่ที่ 0.6 เท่า ส่วนที่เหลือจะเป็นกระแสเงินสดที่มีอยู่ราว 2.9 พันล้านบาท
