ทั้งนี้ หาก นายทักษิณ ไม่เห็นด้วยกับการประเมินภาษีของกรมสรรพากร สามารถทำเรื่องยื่นอุทธรณ์ต่อคณะกรรมการพิจารณาอุทธรณ์ภายใน 30 วัน นับแต่วันได้รับหนังสือแจ้งการประเมินภาษีจากเจ้าพนักงานประเมิน และหากไม่พอใจผลประเมิน ยังสามารถอุทธรณ์ต่อศาลภาษีอากรภายใน 30 วัน นับแต่วันได้รับแจ้งคำวินิจฉัยอุทธรณ์จากคณะกรรมการพิจารณาอุทธรณ์ อย่างไรก็ตาม หากนายทักษิณ ไม่ยื่นอุทธรณ์ตามกำหนด กรมสรรพากรจะดำเนินการเก็บภาษีทันที และหากผู้เสียภาษีไม่มาชำระ กรมจะใช้อำนาจยึดทรัพย์ เช่น เงินฝาก และ อสังหาริมทรัพย์ เพื่อนำมาชำระค่าภาษีให้ครบต่อไป
